1. Use St. Thomas as the flight gateway

St. John does not have an airport. The official USVI tourism guidance directs travelers through St. Thomas, followed by a passenger ferry, water taxi, or private boat to Cruz Bay. That makes the airport-to-water transfer the first fixed decision in the itinerary.

Day 1

Arrive on St. Thomas

Use an overnight on St. Thomas when the flight, checked luggage, road transfer, or ferry window is fragile.

Days 2–4

Base on St. John

Move to Cruz Bay, then plan beaches, trails, snorkeling, and island transport without another hotel change.

Return to St. Thomas

Use the final full day for St. Thomas rather than relying on a same-day ferry and international flight.
